Demo: Benefit's They're Real Mascara & Erase Paste

Benefit has been talked about for some now, most talk comes with their mascara's. The new talk of YT is their new mascara, They're Real. I'm a little late jumping on the They're Real train, but figured I'd give it a try. This is the first higher end mascara I have purchased. I have avoided high end mascara in the past because after seeing YT videos, I couldn't really see that big of a difference between high end & drug store. Eyeshadows there is for sure a difference in quality. So, with that being said, I decided to see what all the hype was about with this mascara. I have seen several reviews and saw this mascara do great things for the girl's lashes. I talked myself into purchasing it when Ulta was having their Friend's & Family Sale with 20% off. You can see what else I purchased in a haul video linked here. You don't have to work much with the mascara, right off the bat it lengthens and thickens. I worked with it a little bit to build up product. I find the ball on the tip of the wand really useful. It makes it easy to add even more length to the end of the lashes. This mascara not only lengthens, but also thickens which in my opinion is difficult to find both in one mascara. It built my lashes nice and thick, and the formula doesn't really clump.

The Real Question: Is It Worth the Price? This mascara can dig a deep hole into your pocket book with the heavy price tag of $22. As mentioned before, I find this steep as you can easily find a great drug store mascara for $8-$10. The more I use this mascara, the more I fall in love with it. If you don't have a big mascara collection, and are in the market for a lengthening and thickening mascara, my vote is buy it. Worst comes to worst, you can always return it (; Moving on now to the other Benefit product I purchased- Erase Paste.

I have been on the long journey of trying to find a great concealer to help cover the dark circles under my eyes. I have a sleeping disorder, so there's really no avoiding them. Again, I have never purchased a higher end concealer, always drug store. The concealers I'm really interested in trying is the Bobbi Brown creamy concealer & the Cover FX concealer. None of the Sephora's/Ulta's in my area carry either brands. I do not feel comfortable ordering a product online when I cannot even swatch it to see how well the color would match or if I would like the consistency. Now, you're thinking I could always return it, but that would be a pain in the rump! I had Benefit's Erase Paste recommended to me a few times, so again, I figured what the hay might as well try it since I'll be getting 20% off. The concealer is not at all what I expected it to be. It is VERY thick, creamy, and well-paste like. You need the smallest amount to cover your whole face practically. I was so indecisive on whether or not to purchase this because of the high price and small container. I was able to talk myself into it by thinking "I can always return it". I got the No. 1 Fair. This concealer only comes in 2 color choices which would make it difficult for people to match. It comes with a little plastic spatchel tool to make it easy to get product out and to spread evenly on your face. Overall Review: I am a fan of this concealer. It does a GREAT job of covering up any redness, blemishes, or unevenness in your skin tone. You barely need anything to achieve an even looking complexion where I find with my drug store concealers, I am always packing the product onto my face. This concealer will also dig another hole in your pocket book since the retail price is a hefty $26. After using the product, I realized it is worth the price. It can be misleading since it comes in such tiny packaging, but since you barely need any to apply, this will be long lasting. **NOTE** for the concealer, make sure you store it upside down. If it is right side up, gravity will slowly start pulling the moisture that makes the concealer creamy to the bottom of the pot. You don't want your concealer to dry up prematurely! Storing it upside down will help keep the moisture at the top where you'll be using the product. This goes the same for any gel liners, paint pots, or any creamy product that is packaged in a pot. Get Ready with Me Tag!

On YouTube there has recently been a tag going around of a sped up video of yourself getting ready.
I was getting ready to go out for my mom's birthday dinner, so I didn't have the time to take and explain what I was doing so I figured this would be time to do this tag!
This is a look I haven't tried before, so maybe I should have explained haha.

I basically used all Urban Decay products for this, UD is my FAV!
For face, I used Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Foundation, E.L.F. Concealer & Hilighter, & Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin.

For the eye makeup I used mostly the Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette and some colors from the Urban Decay Naked Palette. First I used Naked on the lids.


Then, I placed Midnight 15 from the Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette over the Naked color. I mixed Midnight Rodeo & M.I.A. and placed that on my crease & outer corner & blended any harsh lines I had with the Naked color. Taking Evidence from 15th Anniversary Palette with a dense crease brush I put it right on my socket line withOUT blending it out/up much. I then put some Deep End on top of Evidence and blended together. Putting Deep End to the look adds some nice color! Since the look so far is so shimmery, I want to put a matte shadow on my brow bone, because personally I don't like the look of all shimmer from lid to brow. So like always, I used Mary Kay's Sweet Cream shadow which is a matte vanilla color.

For the lower lash line, I took Naked & Buck from the Naked Palette and smoked out the lower lash line.

After that, I placed a thin line of Evidence right on my lash line for a more defined line. I winged out my gel liner and tightlined my lash line on the top & bottom.
Don't forget to add mascara (because I did haha)!

To finish my face off, I used my NARS Laguna bronzer, NARS Albotross Hilight, & used 2 blushes from Ulta-Afternoon Delight & Afterglow.

15-YEAR ANNIVERSARY EYESHADOW COLLECTION!

Ok everyone, earlier this week Urban Decay launched their fall collection and are also celebrating their 15th birthday. I was able to purchase the eyeshadow palette before it sold out.

I can not say enough how impressed I am with this palette! The packaging is truly one of a kind and absolutely amazing! The box sits in a deep purple velvet holder, and the top of box itself is a faint gunmetal color with purple jeweled ud on it. The sides have a unique design and the bottom half of the box is a faint purple color.



When you open the box you see the gorgeous palette which has a range of neutral shades, bright fun colors, and deep darker colors. You will notice in the bottom right corner there is a space so you can lift the tray out of the box. Under the eyeshadow tray is a layer of deep purple velvet in which you can use to hide jewelry or other small objects! This is great because it isn't just useless packaging. You can reuse it as a jewelry box or what so ever after the palette is gone!



Now onto what really matters-the eyeshadow itself! I was skeptical to buy this palette because of the neutral and dark shades (which did not disappoint & are amazing) since I have the Naked palette and felt I could live without those, BUT all the BRIGHT colors in the middle row is what won me over and convinced me to purchase this palette. I felt I would regret it if I didn't have those bright colors (I don't have many brights to begin with that are well pigmented).

When I first looked at the palette after opening, I had to tear my eyes away since I was filming or I would have stared at it much longer! haha. Each color I could spend a minute looking at just to see all the different colors and aspects that make the shadow. The pictures/video of the swatches do not do justice-all the colors look so incredible in person. Almost all the shadows have shimmer, so if you're not a fan of that I would not recommend this product. Most of the colors have a gold shimmer/glitter and there are even 2 duo chrome colors(Junkshow&Omen)! The list goes from the dark row to the color row to the neutral row
DARK:
Deeper- a shimmery golden brown
M.I.A.- soft shimmery dark brown
Ace-dark gunmetal shimmer
Blackout- darkest, most saturated black
Half Truth- shimmery smoky purple



COLOR:
Tainted- pale matte purple with golden shimmer
Junkshow- bright pink w/fuchsia shift
Omen- shimmery metallic bright purple w/blue shift
Evidence- deep metallic blue
Deep End- bright teal shimmer



NEUTRAL:
Midnight Rodeo- medium metallic brown w/silver and gold glitter
Midnight 15- oyster pearl w/silver glitter
Vanilla- shimmery white gold
Flow- soft peach shimmer
Chase-metallic bright bronze

Crazy Rainbow Nails!

I've been seeing this idea on a lot of people but with zebra stripes instead of the shatter effect. I don't nearly have the patience to try the zebra look using a toothpick, so I wondered if it would look cool with the shatter on top and I think it rocks!
The star of this look is the black shatter by OPI. This is what pulls the look together.

As a base coat, I used the Nail Envy also by OPI

I used Sonic Bloom by Sally Hansen as one of the colors layered in

For the rest of the colors, I used everything in the Bright Idea mini pack by OPI which includes That's Hot! Pink, Atomic Orange, & Teal the Cows Come Home. I also used the RapiDry Top Coat to finish the look off.


I must say I absoluetly LOVE this nail look! It's fun and different! I've had this on for 2 days and already so many people have been grabbing my hand complimenting the look and asking how I did it! Hope you can give this attention grabbing design a go!

This is a nice light weight look perfect for hot summer days if you need to dress up.
I am wearing capris from H&M and paired it with a tank by Mudd. I also added a skinny tan belt with gold detail to help dress the look up.
